Description
Autumn in the Adirondacks can be magical, especially the years were the colors are exceptionally vibrant. I spent several days and several hundred miles cruising through the Adirondacks one year looking for the best color locations. Near the end of the third day, exhausted and getting hungry, I passed this scene on Lake Abanakee (NY) when crossing over the Route 28 bridge. Reluctantly, I stopped and snapped a shot, but the wide angle lens didn't do the scene justice. I quickly thought to try a telephoto lens and made this image. It usually worth a stop when something catches your eye, even if you are tired and hungry.
